MISSION STATEMENT:

The goal of the Bloomington Roller Derby League is to bring roller derby to Bloomington and the surrounding area, to provide an opportunity for skaters of all skills and all genders to learn about roller derby and develop their skills in the sport, and to build strong relationships with other roller derby organizations supporting the same goals. Additionally, Bloomington Roller Derby want to bring the Bloomington community together and support our community through volunteering opportunities as a roller derby team.

Bloomington Roller Derby is dedicated to providing an opportunity for skaters of all abilities, ethnicities, genders, and sexual orientations to develop their skills in roller derby. The pronouns of trans and non-binary Athletes will always be respected. We have a zero tolerance policy for any form of discrimination or sexual harassment/violence against coaches, athletes, or volunteers.

Bloomington Roller Derby proudly follow WFTDA guidelines on inclusive and anti-discrimination practices in relation to all transgender women, intersex women, and gender expansive participants, and aims to ensure that all skaters’, volunteers’, and employees’ rights are respected and protected. An individual who identifies as a trans woman, intersex woman, and/or gender expansive may skate with a WFTDA charter team if women’s flat track roller derby is the version and composition of roller derby with which they most closely identify.
